She's Baaack!
SO... It's been a while.
My friend, AMB started blogging and I've been inspired to kickstart my old blog - a few changes: A new format, a new name and a new topic, which I have yet to decide... I just know I can't keep blogging about being a nanny, for obvious reasons.
For those of you who don't know - I used to keep a blog when I was working as a nanny in Halifax. The blog was titled "Memoirs of a Nanny" and chronicled my life caring for R, a hilariously saucy little 7 year-old. I contemplated deleting the old stories, but after re-reading them, I realized how much of those experiences I had forgotten. I'm gonna keep em posted so that I can read them again 5 years down the road. They're worth a read, just know that I have matured a bit since then.
Since I left the blogging world, I went on to work at a group home, as well as the local indoor skatepark in Riverview, NB - the best job I've ever had. I got my Bachelor of Social Work degree and promptly moved to Corner Brook, Newfoundland after graduating. I've been in Corner Brook just over 2 years now and I've seemed to make a home for myself here. I've been told I'm even starting to develop a "cute little Newfie accent", as my mom puts it!
It's been almost 5 years since I last posted... a story that was left as to be continued. Sadly, I can't remember the rest of the NYC trip as well now that I would have then. It will have to remain a mystery!
I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to 'blog' about yet - I'm open to suggestions so please leave comments! For now, I'll stick with the cute/funny kids theme and leave a funny little snippit from a conversation with one of the children I work with:
I was talking with a child at school one day. I ask him the famous "Miracle Question" - If you woke up tomorrow and a miracle happened, what would have changed?
N: A angel would have entered my house.
Amy: An angel would have entered your house?
N: Yep!
Amy: Anything else?
N: She'd tell me about God.
Amy: Anything else?
N: And I'd meet Jesus!
